OKX Futures Calculator: Liquidation Price, Fees and PnL

On OKX USDT-margined perpetual swaps, a $10,000 BTC long at 20x from $81,000 sits in the first maintenance-margin tier (MMR 0.400%, up to 100x) and liquidates near $77,297.84, 4.57% below entry, on OKX's own isolated formula. At the 0.05% base taker fee, opening and closing it costs $10.00.

The calculator below is preset to OKX's tiers for BTC, ETH and SOL and its base taker fee. Enter entry, leverage and margin to get notional, liquidation price, fees, funding, PnL and ROE for a long or short; the tier, and with it the maintenance margin rate and the leverage cap, follows the size of the position.

How OKX calculates liquidation

OKX liquidates when the maintenance margin ratio, (margin + unrealised PnL) ÷ (position value × (MMR + fee rate)), falls to 100% or below, measured on the mark price, and reduces large positions in stages through the position tiers before closing them fully. OKX's isolated USDT-margined estimate is LP = (margin − Q × E) ÷ (Q × (MMR + fee rate − 1)) for a long and (margin + Q × E) ÷ (Q × (MMR + fee rate + 1)) for a short, where Q is face value × contracts and the fee rate is the taker rate; the worked numbers below use that with the base taker fee.

Worked example: BTC on OKX

Four BTC positions run through OKX's formula with the tier that matches each size. The large position lands in a higher tier, so its maintenance margin rate is higher and its leverage is capped at that tier's maximum.

Entry $81,000 (example price as of 2026-10-23, not live). Isolated margin, no added margin. "Calculator above" puts the same tier MMR into the generic formula entry × (1 ∓ 1/L ± MMR).

OKX maintenance-margin tiers (BTC, ETH, SOL)

Maintenance margin = position value × MMR for the tier the position falls in. Each tier also caps the leverage you can open.

What this calculator leaves out

Staged position reduction (a partly reduced position is checked against the tier of its new size) and cross margin. OKX tiers are set in contracts; they are shown here in the base asset using each contract's value. Funding is entered by hand (positive rates are paid by longs). Numbers are estimates for planning, not OKX's own figures; your position page on OKX is the reference.

OKX futures calculator FAQ

How is the liquidation price calculated on OKX?

Example: a $10,000 BTC long at 20x from $81,000 has $500.00 of margin, falls in tier 1 (MMR 0.400%) and liquidates near $77,297.84, 4.57% below entry.

What is the maximum leverage on OKX BTC futures?

The tier snapshot (fetched 2026-10-23 13:15 UTC) gives 100x for BTC-USDT-SWAP up to 10 BTC (about $810,000 at the example price); larger positions move to higher tiers with lower caps, shown in the tier table. Leverage caps change, so check the OKX trading rules before you trade.

Which OKX fee does this calculator use?

It prefills 0.05% per side, the base-tier taker rate for BTC-USDT-SWAP (maker 0.02%). On a $10,000 position that is $10.00 to open and close with market orders. Change the fee field to your own VIP or maker rate.

Why does OKX show a different liquidation price from this calculator?

Staged position reduction (a partly reduced position is checked against the tier of its new size) and cross margin. OKX tiers are set in contracts; they are shown here in the base asset using each contract's value. The calculator above also uses the generic formula with the tier MMR; the worked table shows how far that sits from OKX's own formula. Liquidation is checked against the mark price, so the last traded price can pass your liquidation price without closing the position, or the other way round.
