Binance Futures Calculator: Liquidation Price, Fees and PnL

On Binance USDⓈ-M perpetual futures, a $10,000 BTC long at 20x from $81,000 sits in the first maintenance-margin tier (MMR 0.400%, up to 150x) and liquidates near $77,259.04, 4.62% below entry, on Binance's own isolated formula. At the 0.05% base taker fee, opening and closing it costs $10.00.

The calculator below is preset to Binance's tiers for BTC, ETH and SOL and its base taker fee. Enter entry, leverage and margin to get notional, liquidation price, fees, funding, PnL and ROE for a long or short; the tier, and with it the maintenance margin rate and the leverage cap, follows the size of the position.

How Binance calculates liquidation

Binance's isolated formula is LP = (WB + cum − side × Q × EP) ÷ (Q × MMR − side × Q), where WB is the isolated wallet balance, cum the maintenance amount of the bracket, Q the position size, EP the entry price and side +1 for long, −1 for short. Maintenance margin is notional × MMR − maintenance amount, and the position is liquidated when the Mark Price reaches LP.

Worked example: BTC on Binance

Four BTC positions run through Binance's formula with the tier that matches each size. The large position lands in a higher tier, so its maintenance margin rate is higher and its leverage is capped at that tier's maximum.

Entry $81,000 (example price as of 2026-10-23, not live). Isolated margin, no added margin. "Calculator above" puts the same tier MMR into the generic formula entry × (1 ∓ 1/L ± MMR).

Binance maintenance-margin tiers (BTC, ETH, SOL)

Maintenance margin = position value × MMR − deduction for the tier the position falls in. Each tier also caps the leverage you can open.

What this calculator leaves out

Cross margin and Multi-Assets mode add the rest of the wallet, the unrealised PnL of other positions and their maintenance margin to the formula. Brackets are picked here from the entry notional; Binance also lowers the leverage you can open as notional grows (the brackets below). Funding is entered by hand (positive rates are paid by longs). Numbers are estimates for planning, not Binance's own figures; your position page on Binance is the reference.

Binance futures calculator FAQ

How is the liquidation price calculated on Binance?

Binance's isolated formula is LP = (WB + cum − side × Q × EP) ÷ (Q × MMR − side × Q), where WB is the isolated wallet balance, cum the maintenance amount of the bracket, Q the position size, EP the entry price and side +1 for long, −1 for short. Maintenance margin is notional × MMR − maintenance amount, and the position is liquidated when the Mark Price reaches LP. Example: a $10,000 BTC long at 20x from $81,000 has $500.00 of margin, falls in tier 1 (MMR 0.400%) and liquidates near $77,259.04, 4.62% below entry.

What is the maximum leverage on Binance BTC futures?

The tier snapshot (fetched 2026-10-23 13:15 UTC) gives 150x for BTCUSDT up to $300,000 of position value; larger positions move to higher tiers with lower caps, shown in the tier table. Leverage caps change, so check the Binance trading rules before you trade.

Which Binance fee does this calculator use?

It prefills 0.05% per side, the base-tier taker rate for BTCUSDT (maker 0.02%). On a $10,000 position that is $10.00 to open and close with market orders. Change the fee field to your own VIP or maker rate.

Why does Binance show a different liquidation price from this calculator?

Cross margin and Multi-Assets mode add the rest of the wallet, the unrealised PnL of other positions and their maintenance margin to the formula. Brackets are picked here from the entry notional; Binance also lowers the leverage you can open as notional grows (the brackets below). The calculator above also uses the generic formula with the tier MMR; the worked table shows how far that sits from Binance's own formula. Liquidation is checked against the Mark Price, so the last traded price can pass your liquidation price without closing the position, or the other way round.
