Hyperliquid Calculator
Unofficial tool — not affiliated with Hyperliquid; formulas follow public docs and a bundled meta snapshot.
This Hyperliquid calculator estimates isolated liquidation from margin tiers, effective taker and maker fees after volume and HYPE staking, and net PnL on a USD-notional perp with optional hourly funding. It uses the same entry, leverage and size fields across tabs so you can compare liq distance, fee drag and ROE in one place.
Pick liquidation, fees or PnL, choose an asset from the live universe when the API responds, and edit prices and size. For generic exchange liquidation without Hyperliquid tier math, use the liquidation price calculator.

Hyperliquid liquidation price
Hyperliquid perps use tiered maximum leverage by position notional. Maintenance margin rate at the top tier is modelled here as one divided by twice the max leverage at that tier, then liquidation walks through tiers as size grows. Isolated mode uses margin posted to the position; cross mode can pass account value into the same routine so a larger wallet pushes liquidation farther away, subject to other open risk not modelled on this page.
The liquidation tab sizes in coin units (for example BTC) rather than USD notional. Isolated margin at entry is approximately entry × size ÷ leverage for a simplified collateral figure before tier adjustments. The BTC long and short table injected at build time shows how liq moves at 5x, 10x, 20x and 40x on a one-coin position using the committed meta snapshot.
Mark price, funding, open orders and partial liquidation are not simulated. Treat output as an estimate and confirm in the Hyperliquid app before trading. For a venue-agnostic check with LeverUp and generic MMR modes, use the liquidation price calculator.
Hyperliquid fees: volume, staking and multipliers
Base taker and maker fees step down with fourteen-day weighted volume. Staking HYPE applies a discount tier (Wood through Diamond) to positive fees. A referral flag applies a four percent reduction on the fee schedule for the first twenty-five million dollars of volume as documented publicly. HIP-3 markets double fees unless growth mode is enabled, which applies a tenfold reduction multiplier for qualifying markets.
The fees tab shows effective percentages after those rules and estimates round-trip cost on a USD notional at the entry price you enter, assuming taker on both legs unless you only use the fee table for orientation. Maker rebate tiers subtract a small amount from maker fee for high-volume makers; select the tier that matches your account if you know it.
The build-time fee matrix lists base tiers against staking columns. Your actual bill depends on whether you provide liquidity, use reduce-only closes, and how much volume you trade outside this single notional example.
Hyperliquid PnL and break-even exit
The PnL tab values a linear perp from entry to exit on USD notional: quantity equals notional divided by entry, gross P&L is the directional price change times that quantity, and fees subtract on open and close. Optional funding accrues linearly with the hourly rate you enter times hold hours. Net ROE divides net P&L by margin implied by notional ÷ leverage.
Break-even exit is the price at which fees (and funding if entered) are recovered after the open leg. Checking “close at maker fee” uses the effective maker rate on the exit only, which helps model limit closes when you are not crossing the spread.
Slippage, partial fills, withdrawals and transfers between spot and perp wallets are out of scope. For spot-style buy and sell profit without tiered perp fees, the crypto profit calculator on this site is simpler.
Hyperliquid vs generic liquidation calculators
Generic calculators on this site use a single maintenance margin rate or the LeverUp margin-loss rule. Hyperliquid’s tier table changes max leverage and maintenance as notional crosses bounds, so liq on a large BTC position can differ from a flat 0.5% MMR guess. Use this page when you specifically trade on Hyperliquid; use the generic tool when comparing across venues or teaching the 1/L distance rule.
LeverUp still offers very high leverage on selected crypto markets (including 1000x-style settings on BTC and ETH as of 2026-10-19), which is a different product from Hyperliquid’s tier caps. Neither replaces reading each exchange’s current parameters at order time.
Live meta and mids
On load the page requests Hyperliquid meta for margin tables and may refresh entry from allMids when you change asset. If the request fails, the status line above the form reports the bundled snapshot date and calculations continue offline. Asset dropdown lists max leverage from that metadata for each listed coin.
Delisted markets are filtered out. HIP-3 and referral toggles only affect fee math, not liquidation tiers, unless Hyperliquid’s published rules change — verify against official documentation when fees matter to your edge.
FAQ
Is this an official Hyperliquid calculator?
No. It is an independent page that implements public formulas and a snapshot of meta data. Hyperliquid’s app and docs are authoritative for your account.
How is Hyperliquid liquidation different from the generic formula?
Hyperliquid iterates margin tiers by notional, adjusting maintenance and max leverage at each bound. The generic page uses a single MMR or LeverUp’s margin-loss rule instead.
What units should I enter for position size?
On the liquidation tab, size is in coins (e.g. 1 BTC). On fees and PnL tabs, use USD notional. Entry price links the two through quantity = notional ÷ entry.
How do HYPE staking discounts work?
Holdings thresholds map to Wood through Diamond tiers that reduce taker and positive maker fees. Enter your staked HYPE balance; the calculator picks the highest tier you qualify for.
What does the referral checkbox do?
It applies a four percent reduction to the fee schedule, matching the documented referral benefit on early volume. It does not change liquidation tiers.
Can I model funding in PnL?
Yes. Enter funding percent per hour and hold hours. Positive funding paid by longs reduces net P&L on longs over the hold; the sign convention follows the rate you type.
Why do fees use notional while liquidation uses coin size?
Hyperliquid’s public fee examples are quoted on traded notional, while tier liquidation is tied to position size in the underlying. The form keeps both conventions explicit per tab.
Where do max leverage numbers come from?
From Hyperliquid meta, either live via API or the committed snapshot when offline. Caps change when the exchange updates tiers; reload the page to refresh live data.
